Thumbnail & Image Specs
Video Thumbnail
| Dimensions | 640 × 360 px minimum, 5000 × 5000 px maximum |
|---|---|
| Aspect Ratio | 16:9 (landscape) and 9:16 (portrait), set separately |
| Max File Size | 5 MB |
| File Formats | JPG, PNG, GIF |
| Notes | Custom thumbnail upload available to Premium Creators and Edge; other users can pick a frame from the video |
Channel Avatar
| Dimensions | 400 × 400 px recommended |
|---|---|
| Aspect Ratio | 1:1 |
| Max File Size | 5 MB |
| File Formats | JPG, PNG |
| Notes | Shown in channel header and below videos |
Channel Cover / Banner
| Dimensions | 1920 × 1080 px (unconfirmed against primary source; strong secondary-source consensus) |
|---|---|
| Aspect Ratio | 16:9 |
| Max File Size | 5 MB |
| File Formats | JPG, PNG |
| Notes | Wide header image shown on the channel page. Second-pass check: the official "Channel photos"/thumbnail help articles could not be retrieved in full (403 direct, and the reader-proxy fetch returned only a JS-required interstitial for the thumbnail article); a Quora Q&A specifically about Dailymotion banner errors turned out to quote generic YouTube banner specs (2560×1440 canvas / 1546×423 safe area), not Dailymotion's own — a reminder that 1920×1080 is still unconfirmed against a primary Dailymotion source |
